The European Ashkenazi Jews arrived in Palestine not as immigrants seeking shelter but as colonizers with a new twist, they only wanted to colonize the land not the people. Theodor Herzl the father of Zionism's most famous quote is:

"We shall try to spirit the penniless population across the border by procuring employment for it in the transit countries whilst denying it any employment in our own country."

But they did not manage "to spirit the penniless population", at least not all of them, and their solution now appears to be to kill those who remained, i.e. a holocaust of the indegnious Palestinian people.
