Galloway: In April and may of 1943 the Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto surrounded by barbered wire fences by the occupiers of Poland … and they made their choice: they could die on their knees or they could live forever. And they chose to rise up against their occupier. To use their bodies as weapons, to dig tunnels, to fight, not to die in ones and twos of hunger and typhus, but to die as free men and women. Today, the Palestinian people are the new Warsaw ghetto and those who are murdering them are the equivalent of those who murdered the Jews in Warsaw in 1843. I am going after this to the "Israeli" embassy where I have been everyday this week, but yesterday I was at the embassy of Egypt and I want to say there are many governments responsible for this great crime but the dictatorship of Hosni Mubrak is jointly responsible for the murder of every Palestinian who has died these two last years.

My response: I have begun to recognize a certain pattern in Galloway's speech about Gaza. He assures Jews of the oft-repeated 6 million Jews who are supposed to have died during ww2. In this speech, he also attempts to equate the European Jews' troubles in Europe with the plight of the Palestinians. It is very important for people to remember that Palestinians were innocent bystanders when European Jewry begun the stampede to Palestine, whereas the trouble between European Jewry and the rest of the European people was a conflict -not without cause- but that should have found a European Solution such as granting a European land for a European Jewry.
