To the Editor:
Re: "Zionists are the New Nazis," Jan. 8.
Gulf News' Ethics Policy says "credibility, a publisher's most precious asset, is arduously acquired and easily squandered," and "it is obvious that we should not knowingly publish falsehoods."
Yet, Gulf News allowed onto its opinion page the vilest of anti-Semitic canards and an obvious falsehood: that "the Nazi holocaust was a mere lie, which was devised by the Zionists to blackmail humanity."
Space does not permit a proper rebuttal of the garbage in that column. Suffice it to say that by publishing it, Gulf News violated all standards of decency, perpetuated an insult of enormous magnitude, and destroyed its credibility.
